Canal Pool

The Canal Pool is the only fishing pool of its kind in Shropshire. Designed to mimic a natural canal, the Canal fishing pool is set over 1 acre of water, measuring 10 metres in width. This unique pool is not just one of the best fishing pools in Shropshire, but it also offers some of the best silver fishing in the country. This is the perfect lake to enjoy whilst staying with us for your fishing holiday or retreat – a must for any avid anglers!

The Canal fishing pool is an open water pool, with a measured depth of 9ft. The layout of the pool and pegs allows for anglers to fish to the far bank if they wish. Fourteen pegs are available on this pool, all located down the left-hand side.

This pool is an extremely well stocked lake, with all silver coarse fish such as roach, rudd, bream, ide, perch and tench – a fantastic collection for a great day of fishing in Shropshire. From experienced anglers to those trying it for the first time, this is a great pool for all to try. A match is held at the Canal fishing pool every Saturday, with weights recorded reaching up to 30lbs on a regular basis – that’s a lot of silvers! A great match to get involved in each week, or to spectate.

Please note – fishery pellets and landing nets must be used at this fishing pool at all times. Please bring a landing net handle with you when visiting the pool.
