Great pleasure fishing in Shropshire

Spring Lea Fishery provides an unforgettable experience, boasting some of the best fishing pools in Shropshire. We’re open all year, seasonal times apply, providing plenty of opportunities to enjoy pleasure fishing in Shropshire with us.

Our collection of four coarse and carp pools are set amongst a beautiful backdrop of Shropshire countryside, over 12 acres, edged by well managed landscaped park grounds and pathways. All pools are well stocked with hand-selected, hard fighting carp weighing up to 36lbs, with a variety of coarse fish species. Throughout the site you’ll find clear signage to direct you to your chosen pool and peg, with a guide as to the species of fish available.

Spring Lea plays host to a weekly open match, attracting local and national anglers. The current 5-hour match weight recorded was an impressive 298lbs, caught at our Mallard Pool in 2020. Match weights regularly exceed 100lb. Depending on availability our fishing pools can be booked by clubs or private groups for closed matches. Booking is essential as spaces fill very quickly for our matches and club bookings.

In 2021 our new specimen carp lake, Trevor’s Pool, underwent a full transformation. Trevor’s Pool is home to hand-reared carp fish, as well as a fine selection of locally raised British common and mirror carp fish, weighing up to 33lbs.

Our on-site tackle and bait shop is open 7 days a week, stocked with everything you need for a day’s pleasure fishing in Shropshire, including corn, luncheon meat and fishery pellets. Please note that unfortunately we no longer stock maggots, castors or worms. Items can be ordered ahead of your visit, ready for you to pick up when you arrive.
